February 19, 2010 - Smart-Leaf PC/TV, made by Originatic LLC, has been Selected for 2010 Dream Home
The Smart-Leaf has been selected for the Dream Home of the 2010 National Home Show in Toronto, Canada. The National Home Show, running from February 19, 2010 to February 28, 2010, includes a “Dream Home” on display for the attendees. Within the Dream Home, the wall-mounted Smart-Leaf provides convenient computer/TV access to the household. The style and space efficiency of the Smart-Leaf is in line with the Dream Home’s interior design.

January 6, 2010 - SmartHome Direct distributes the Smart-Leaf Computer
Smarthome Direct, a division of SmartLabs, Inc., entered into an agreement with Originatic LLC to distribute the Smart-Leaf at Smarthome.com. Before entering into the agreement, Smarthome Direct ran the Smart-Leaf through its rigorous hands-on testing and evaluation process. The Smart-Leaf was approved by Smarthome Direct, and the parties agreed upon mutually-beneficial terms for the distribution agreement.
The wall-mounted Smart-Leaf serves as a central computer hub for busy families. Mounted in the kitchen, for example, family members can enjoy WIFI Internet access, cable TV, web phone with webcam, DVD movies, online music, and full PC functionality. The keyboard and LCD are splash-proof, which is a key advantage for kitchen use.

September 18, 2009 - New Patent Awarded for Originatic’s Wall-Mountable Computer
A patent for a wall-mountable computer has recently been granted to Originatic LLC of Chicago, Illinois.
The uniqueness of the computer, sold as the “Smart-Leaf,” relates to its wall-mountable design and integrated, fold-out keyboard. The Smart-Leaf can be mounted to the wall for convenient computer access, and it can be used on a desktop with its integrated, fold-down desktop stand.
Originatic launched its Smart-Leaf computer in March 2009. Since then, the company has sold the Smart-Leaf to customers in three countries.
According to Reno Smith, Originatic’s General Manager, “We see a strong, global demand for the Smart-Leaf, especially as companies look for more ways to increase customer satisfaction and operational efficiencies. Because of its durable design, the Smart-Leaf serves as a kiosk – one that occupies no floor space, is easy to use, and is quite affordable in the kiosk market.”
When asked about the consumer market, Mr. Smith said that the Smart-Leaf will not replace the desktop or laptop. In the larger households, he said, “The Smart-Leaf will serve as a central computer hub, accessible to all family members for easy online access and PC access.”
The base model starts at $1,982. Depending upon the options, the Smart-Leaf features a touch screen, webcam, TV tuner, WIFI, scratch resistance, splash-proofing, keyboard lock, and power lock, all packaged in a compact form with a slim profile.
The new patent, U.S. Patent No. 7,589,958, was issued on September 15, 2009 and is entitled “Mountable Electronic Device Having an Input Device.” It strengthens Originatic’s patent portfolio, which currently includes 7 issued patents, 2 allowed patent applications, and 17 pending patent applications in 12 countries, including the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Originatic LLC announced today, its upcoming release of the Smart-Leaf, an innovative, wall-mountable all-in-one computer. The Smart-Leaf will be released at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas on January 8, 2009.

December 5, 2008 - Smart-Leaf™ Recommended for Patient Exam Rooms
The prototype of Originatic’s Smart-Leaf computer was exhibited today at the IPRO Day of Illinois Institute of Technology. The university’s Interprofessional Projects Program, also known as IPRO, is a project course in which students from various concentrations and disciplines work together to solve real-world problems. Toward the end of every semester, IPRO organizes an event called IPRO Day, which is a culmination of all of the work which teams have performed during the semester.
During the university’s Fall 2008 semester, a participating class of students received an assignment to develop new and improved medical facility designs. As part of the design recommendations, the class researched a variety of medical computers, taking into account space efficiency, utility, ease of operation and other factors. The class selected Originatic's Smart-Leaf as the recommended medical computer intended to be mounted to the walls of patient examination rooms. At today’s IPRO event in Chicago, the class exhibited the Smart-Leaf prototype as part of its overall design recommendations.
